The people behind Takeoff
How we got here
Takeoff started as a portfolio site framework hacked together in a dorm room at UBC. A couple years later we ended up on hiring committees, and realized this was a tool other people needed too. So we turned it into a real product, and launched in early 2026.
Today, Takeoff is a small team building one tool that replaces the five you're currently juggling. No more paying too much for a traditional site builder, losing track of applications in a spreadsheet, and slowly building folders full of resumes for each listing. Just a simple suite of tools, all seamlessly connected.
We've got a soft spot for alternative business practices like co-ops, non-profits, and open source projects. We don't believe in overcharging for tools people need or selling their data, so we've vowed to keep the product small, honest, and fairly priced.
